As you no doubt know, the Europe will be mind-melding into the
European Community this year, and part of that is going to be a
scheme for making their currency more interconvertable by inventing
a new metacurrency, the European Currency Unit. No doubt they have
Europe's finest engravers busily drawing up beautiful multicolor
designs at this very moment, but I frankly think that the ECU should
instead be a plain black and white rectangle with the word "MONEY"
written in plain block letters (perhaps in several languages), with
the value written on it using a bar code.
