A01) You don't have a credit rating, as such. Each credit bureau collects information from banks, finance companies, department stores, taxing authorities, landlords, and other "credit grantors" and keeps the information in your file. The file is supposed to be an objective record of your credit history, in essence a sorted copy of information furnished to the credit bureau by companies you have done business with on credit. However, 3b2 users are more than welcome to have the clients, the libraries, the include files, and the pre-processor. This will get X-windows up on your 3b2 without the xdaemon stuff (as long as you have the Wollongong networking stuff.) With this stuff, you'll have a pile of ready-to-run clients as well as the tools needed to compile your own X11 applications. Q04) HOW DOES PDP 11/44 MEMORY MANAGEMENT WORK? A04) The answer to this is similar to the joystick answer, except that there is a special case for the video display. If you comment out both the "EGAROM" and the "VGAROM" entries in the vpix.cnf file, VP/IX will access the VGA BIOS directly. That is, it will recognize a special case of the DDA device. Q05) I have a one partitionned 40Mb disc. If I run mkfs, what happens? A06) If the offensive team drops the disc, catches it out of bounds, or fails to complete a pass because a defender somehow blocks the pass, the other team picks up the disc where it lands and works to score in the other direction. Defenders gnerally play either a man-to-man or zone defense in their attempt to block a throw. Q07) Where can I get a copy of the Rules? A07) You should get answers to your questions from the nearest Indian Consulate. I am hesitant to put the answers to these questions here because they change every so often. A08) Most jurisdictions require that you obtain a permit and inspections of any wiring that is done. Amongst other more mundane bureaucratic reasons (like insurance companies not liking to have to pay claims), a permit and inspections provides some assurance that you, your family, your neighbors or subsequent owners of your home don't get killed or lose their homes one night due to a sloppy wiring job. Q09) I was refused a loan or credit card. What can I do? A09) Do *not* sympathize with the dog or try to soothe it. While car-sickness isn't quite the same as being afraid of riding in the car, it could conceivably be brought on by such a fear. If that is the case, doing *anything* that the pup can possibly interpret as praise can be counterproductive. It will teach it that this fear is the desired behavior. If the car sickness if brought on by such fear and it is, inadavertantly, taught that the fear is desired behavior, the car sickness will continue. Q10) Why do I get errors when extracting from a ZIP file I downloaded? A10) This is a very controversial and political question. Generally, certification is something voluntary, while licencing is regulated by governments. Certification generally means some agency warrants you meet its standards; licencing generally means that to claim to practice a certain profession requires a government licence, often administered through a professional organization. In theory both are supposed to help judge if someone is capable of doing certain jobs. Q11) So is each frame predicted from the last frame? A11) This question is one that often confronts even the most seasoned record collectors. The decision of which version of a piece to buy on record is entirely a matter of taste. Experienced listeners often know the style of each conductor and can judge on that basis. If you are unfamiliar with a piece or with the versions available to you, you might want to start off by looking in the Penguin Guide (see "Reference Books" below). Though not always 100% on the mark, this guide will describe the differences between multiple recordings of a given work, and may enable you to choose the recording that is right for you. There are also magazines such as Fanfare, Grammophone, Stereo Review, Audio, and some of the high-end audio journals that review new recordings on a regular basis. Q12) My house doesn't meet some of these rules and regulations. Do I have to upgrade? A12) For 50 Hz display standards (PAL, SECAM) change the number of lines in a field from 243 or 240 to 288, and change the display rate to 50 fields/s or 25 frames/s. Similarly, change the 120 lines in the decimated chrominance channels to 144 lines. Since 288*50 is exactly equal to 240*60, the two formats have the same source data rate.
