BRA FAQs

I maintain the Underwire and Bra FAQs for the former alt.sewing (now rec.crafts.textiles.sewing and other related groups). I wrote them because I needed the information I've collected in them and found that a number of other people on the net were also interested. This began as a discussion on alt.sewing, which has since split into a set of news groups and is itself being phased out. Since I wasn't finding this information in one complete printed volume anywhere (and I'm still looking for a unified text on designing and construction of bras and similar attire, in particular from slopers, if anyone knows of one), I decided to first compile one file on Underwire. This then grew into one that covered some discussion on bras, which then grew too large for the one file. Thus was born the Bra FAQ. HOWEVER, this then grew into what became clear to me this past fall was multiple files, so now there are five related files. It took me some months to get the time to sort it through and completely re-do the format, but I think the format will be pretty readable now. (Maybe I will HTML-beautify the FAQs someday. Don't hold your breath.)

Music
I wrote this whole thing on bands and artists I like that have influenced me, at least as a listener. Sort of a musical life story.
The thing on my music plans is much much shorter.

I like anything that she writes that takes place in any place in Union and Alliance space. Mazzianni tales, Pell tales, Downbelow tales, etc. It's just plain good writing, and I think it's very much in the "this is real" style of space-fiction writing, the kind of writing that will propel us into space because it's a believable world. Well, I like her stuff. Here's a list of what I've read of hers so far.

Cooking. Especially spicy stuff. Come talk to me about it. There's also John's dinner server. My (and Madhur Jaffrey's) Basmati rice (I make this a lot.) I also like pad thai.

There is an old favorite story I was forwarded on cooking a christmas goose. I've actually since heard from the author, which was very cool.
