I am searching for the following people: Karl Frandsen, Liz Lewis (Liz, please get in touch with me, Maye is also looking for you, as is Lisa; your name, like George's, is staggeringly common), Gabby Virgo, Brian and Sue Makower, Josh Bloch, The Petras girls, Dave and or Howie Bloch (if you went to Woodward at the right time you might know them), Joy Hirschmann (or Ann, or Dick), Earnie Morris, I'v found Jack Craynock, still want to find Stefan Sage (I may have to break down and contact Greg & Joan). I now have contact information for pretty much my entire graduating Class. Need info for: Greg Fine (Keith, Lisa, or Kenny, Robert or Nancy; contact me if you see this), Dave Light (Dave, I have contact info for JEL if you don't). George Lawrence if you see this contact me. Always looking for grandfather's youngest brother, missing due to adoption.
I have been found by Marc Rucquoi, Louie Lambruschi, and some others. Those of you who recognize the contexts of who I'm looking for or have contact with will know others to contact about this search.
I am also searching for tutorials for learning Cherokee that run on the Mac architecture, and any other study materials (I have Holmes and Smith, which is wonderful, and Feeling's dictionary (also wonderful)). No native speakers probably within 100 miles of here that I know of. Any learning games for studying Cherokee (board, card, tile) pointers would also be appreciated. Sources for laminated Cherokee character (symbol) flashcards also wanted (just like alphabet and number flashcards, except for the 85 symbols). Maybe someone has a listing of the symbol frequency in Cherokee, or there's a scrabble-type game in Cherokee. I'd like to see such things. Anything directed specifically at teaching children to read, write and speak Cherokee also wanted. I've searched extensively on my own and have found very little, my guess is most of it stays within Cherokee communities only but I've kept looking.
Obligatory Desperate Search: If you have a copy [preferably a good one] of the play "The Arcata Promise" on video (DVD is even better but an even longer shot), I've been looking for one for years. This is a play by David Mercer (which I have already gotten years ago, it's bound in a book of three plays called "Huggy Bear and other plays" and published by Methuen). This TV production starred Anthony Hopkins, Kate Nelligan, and John Fraser; and was shown on PBS as a combined BBC/PBS Great Performances production in c. 1976, although it could conceivably have been produced by them as early as c. 1974. The play itself was produced as a stage production in 1974, I'm given to believe, and Sir Tony still does it from time to time (which charms me no end, this was the first production I'd ever seen him in). He loves it enough to keep performing it, apparently. I have had zero luck finding a recording of this 1970s production anywhere and would like to. Thanks in advance for any pointers to a legitimate (no bootlegs!) copy for sale.
(One of these days I have to get around to building that picnic table. Anyone who knows me has heard The Litany Of The Things about my list of carpentry and cabinetry projects. We're talking Five Year Plan, here.)
